A Commercial Sweeper – An Essential Appliance for Squeaky Clean Premises

Most businesses cannot afford not to have a means to keep their premises clean. Apart from the aesthetic value of keeping floors clean, there is also the safety aspect.  Un-kept floors are a hazard to workers and impede their efficiency and productivity to a great extent. Making use of a commercial sweeper is an important tool with long term benefits that encourages a higher standard of production.

Can you imagine what it must be like for a worker to work when the floor is strewn with dust, dirt and rubbish?  Walking through this becomes a hazard as the worker will carry the debris to other parts of the workplace and therefore spread it further.  Apart from the staff walking through it would also be the machinery such as fork lift trucks that wade through debris.  The chances of an accident increase because pieces of junk can get embedded into the machinery and cause the drivers to lose control and crash.

Another aspect to consider is dust and dirt that can get into products.  This is especially so of food stuffs.  This can cause a health hazard, or equipment, appliances, etc could be damaged and not function efficiently.  All these aspects will have a negative impact on productivity and therefore profits of the business.

There are many different types of commercial sweepers to choose from.  Each one is designed for a specific function.  It would depend on the area to be cleaned.  From a small office to a large factory or warehouse, there is a commercial sweeper that can do the job efficiently.

The range is vast and varied, from an appliance that is pushed by a janitor to one that is ridden by an operator and can cover a large area such as a warehouse.  The hand operated sweeper is a self powered commercial sweeper that can be pushed by a single operator.  A pair of rotating brushes will pick up small bits and pieces of material as well as the dust.  It then forces what it picks up to a large hopper.  The contents of the hopper can be disposed of later.  These devices can quickly clear areas up to 32″ wide at a time.  They are usually lightweight enough to be carried up and down stairs easily.

For a large area such as a warehouse or factory a larger and more robust commercial sweeper would be required.  On such a commercial sweeper is a fork lift truck mounted with a brush sweeper.  It can clear a large area within a short time.  One advantage is it makes use of existing equipment.  Most large warehouses and factories already have forklifts in place therefore the brush sweeper is simply attached and can clean large areas at one time.

There is also a commercial sweeper which is called a rider sweeper.  These are often rugged and such a commercial sweeper can clear areas 43 inches in its sweep path.  It is battery operated and has an automatic main boom height adjustment.

Clean premises not only ensure the safety, health and well being of employees but also boost morale and encourage production.  Clean premises encourage staff to adopt a good work ethic and better standards of hygiene.
